COLERAIN TOWNSHIP, Ohio – A Cincinnati woman assaulted a Wal-Mart manager and security guard after trying to “return” a mattress she took off a store display, according to court records.

Taralynn Bowers, 19, made a fraudulent return of a mattress from the store in the 10200 block of Colerain Avenue Saturday, receiving $106.96, according to a police affidavit.

When a store loss prevention officer stopped her, Bowers attacked the woman, biting her, and punching a store manager, police said. Bowers used nearby items as weapons, spraying a can of compressed air in the guard’s face, police said.

Police charged Bowers with robbery.
