CINCINNATI -- Cincinnati Police Officer Rachel Baldwin went above and beyond the call of duty when she crossed paths with a scared little girl at the scene of a car crash in Avondale.

Baldwin was dispatched to a crash on East Martin Luther King Drive in Avondale on May 28, according to a post from Cincinnati Police Department.

Baldwin found out one of the drivers involved in the crash was visiting Cincinnati to take her 7-year-old daughter to the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden to meet a certain famed baby hippo, the post says. (Of course, that's Fiona.)

The family's car was totaled, the CPD post said, so Baldwin helped them find a hotel room for the night and offered to take them to get a rental car.

But back to Fiona -- Baldwin wanted to comfort the scared girl, CPD said, so she drove to the zoo and bought a stuffed hippo doll for the girl.

That wasn't her last good deed for the night: Baldwin also paid for the family's hotel room.
