CINCINNATI -- Traffic crashes and fires take their toll on roads leading to and from the Brent Spence Bridge, meaning drivers on I-71/75 will have to stay on their toes Friday and Saturday as workers close lanes and ramps for repairs.
All lanes of I-71 northbound after the bridge will be closed overnight with no access to the riverfront or Fort Washington Way from 10 p.m. Friday until 6 a.m. and again from 9 p.m. Saturday until 6 a.m. On the Kentucky side of the river, the ramp from Fourth Street in Covington to the bridge will also be closed during those time periods.
There will be delays in the area and it is recommended motorists use I-275 as a detour, or northbound I-75 to the Norwood Lateral.

Additionally, traffic will be reduced to one lane on I-75 southbound going onto the Brent Spence Bridge from Seventh Street from 10 p.m. Friday to 4 p.m. Saturday and again from 10 p.m. Saturday to 4 p.m. Sunday.

There will also be various lane closures on I-71 northbound just past the Lytle Tunnel from 8 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Monday, so watch for crews patching the bridge decks on that bumpy patch of highway.
