Minnesota Vikings running back Jerick McKinnon made a statement with his custom kicks on Sunday.
Before their matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles, McKinnon’s purple warm up cleats bore the message “RIP Harambe” in honor of the late Cincinnati Zoo gorilla, who was shot and killed in May when a three-year-old boy fell into his enclosure.

This is not the first time the Vikings have paid homage to the fallen gorilla.
In this pregame huddle from Week 1, they shouted, “Spoons out for Harambe!”
