COLUMBUS, Ohio -- An elderly man with "major health issues" is missing from his home in Franklin County, according to police.

Carl Russell, 80, was last seen at noon Thursday, when he left his home in the city of Columbus.

Russell is white, 5 feet 8 inches and 220 pounds. He has white hair and blue eyes, and he was last seen wearing a sweatshirt, suspenders and blue jeans.

He talked with his family by phone at 5:30 p.m. but hasn't returned home, according to the Columbus Police Department. The department issued a statewide endangered missing adult alert for him Thursday night.

Russell may be in a beige 2003 Ford Ranger pickup truck with Ohio license plate CD61AR.

Anyone who sees Russell or the pickup truck should call 911.
