DELAWARE COUNTY, Ohio -- The Delaware County Sheriff’s Office helped their beloved bloodhound celebrate retirement Sunday by letting her lap up vanilla ice cream.

Nine-year-old Lacy had “superior sniffing and tracking talents” that made for several notable accomplishments in her career, including tracking down a serial killer and finding a missing child, the sheriff's office said.

She and her handler, Deputy Scott Gaines, were called on by the FBI several times to help with cases throughout the U.S.

Lacy’s retirement is bittersweet for Gaines, but he know she’ll be just as loved as a family pet.
