ALEXANDRIA, Ky. -- The new year, predictably, brings resolutions. Usually people want to lose weight or quit smoking.
For Julie, 30, this year's not about quitting something, but intead about starting fresh.
Julie is a recovering heroin addict. We're not sharing her last name to protect her anonymity.
She used heroin for seven years before finally getting sober in July 2014. It took seven stints in rehab to get her to that point.
"Somebody came and picked me up. Somebody took me to meetings," Julie said. "Somebody was there for me to show me the way and how to be sober."
With the help of friends and family, Julie has furniture for her apartment.
