CINCINNATI -- On Tuesday, Cincinnati mourned the loss of Henry the hippo, who died after several months of sickness, despite the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden's best efforts.
Henry is best known as the father of the world-famous baby hippo Fiona. Fiona and Henry were able to live and play together as a hippo family "bloat" for the last several months of his life.
Henry had been struggling with health issues for several months, at times losing his appetite and fighting off an infection. Zoo officials previously said his kidneys had appeared to be shutting down.
Now, he's at peace. We will miss you, Henry.
