BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Andrew Wiedeman scored and made an assist to help lead Cincinnati FC to its first-ever win against Bethlehem Steel FC Sunday.

Cincinnati (1-1) took a 2-1 win over Bethlehem after leading 2-0 at the half.

Wiedeman put in the first goal of the game in the 25th minute, scoring off a give-and-go with Kenney Walker just outside the box.

Nine minutes later, Sean Okoli put in a second goal for Cincy past Bethlehem goalkeeper John McCarthy off a pass from Wiedeman.

Cincinnati goalkeeper Mitch Hildebrandt made four saves in the win and nearly had a shutout.

Bethlehem pushed back in the final minutes of play. Eric Ayuk chipped the ball in off a header in the 89th minute to cut Cincinnati’s lead. Ryan Richter nearly tied the game in the final minute, but his header bounced off the crossbar.

FC Cincinnati will next face Charlotte Independence in their inaugural home opened at Nippert Stadium April 9.
