LOCKLAND, Ohio -- When Lockland police saw a group of kids playing basketball, they felt the need to intervene. Their actions prompted the Hamilton County Police Association to pass along an "ATTABOY" to officers Drew Jones, Jeremy Ohl and Travis Moyers.

What the officers saw last week was a group of kids playing basketball with a sub-par hoop; the hoop was completely missing a backboard.

When the officers asked the kids how they played, they said "We got to hope we make it or we have to chase the ball."

So Jones, Ohl and Moyers decided to buy a new hoop for the group of kids, set it up and deliver it in the middle of the night to surprise the young ballplayers.

"We definitely have a great group of guys here at Lockland PD," the police association posted on Facebook Saturday. "Hats off Officer Drew Jones, Officer Jeremy Ohl, and Officer Travis Moyers!"
