FAIRFIELD, Ohio -- A man and woman were the victims of an apparently random attack at the hands of a stranger who broke into their home Sunday morning, according to a news release from the Fairfield Police Department.
The suspect broke into a Hollyhock Court apartment Sunday morning, tied up the male occupant and sexually assaulted the woman, police said. The male victim freed himself and ran to a nearby business for help, but police said the suspect was gone by the time they reached the scene.
The woman was taken to Mercy Fairfield Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
Anyone with information about the incident should call Officer Doug Day at 513-896-8268.
