CINCINNATI -- A man is dead after a shooting in South Fairmount Wednesday afternoon, police said.

Troy Donald, 34, was shot at about 1:30 p.m. while he was driving near Saturn Street and Fairmount Avenue, Lt. Steve Saunders said. The man continued driving a short distance before he crashed.

First responders tried to treat the man at the scene, but he died from his injuries.

There is no suspect information at this time. Officers found shell casings at the scene, but they did not recover any weapons.

Saye Abdul said he was visiting his cousin who lives nearby when he heard gunshots. Abdul said he didn’t notice any type of altercation that led up to the shooting.

"When I looked out the young man accelerated, but he didn't slow down. He ran into the stone wall, and that's when people went to try to save them. I didn't go down there because it didn't look good,” Abdul said.

Mitch Morris, of Cincinnati Works, advocates against gun violence in the community.

"It never gets any easier … but it's once again we got somebody out here killed to a senseless homicide,” Morris said.

Police asked anyone with information to call Crimestoppers at 513-352-3040.
