CINCINNATI -- A pedestrian died after a two-car crash Downtown Friday.

Two drivers were headed east on Eighth Street. A 71-year-old driver in a 2007 Honda CRV was making a left turn from the third lane onto Sycamore Street when a 58-year-old driver in a 2009 Jaguar XF in the left-turn-only second lane failed to turn and they crashed, police said.

When the Jaguar struck the Honda, the Honda then struck a construction fence, drove across the lanes of travel and entered a parking lot, where it struck the lot attendant's shack and continued and hit a pedestrian, 73-year-old Barbara Vandenbroeck, police said. The Honda continued and hit an unoccupied 2015 Toyota Highlander, which was pushed into a 2012 Acura MDX.

Vandenbroeckwas driven to University of Cincinnati Medical Center, where she died from her injuries.

Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts. Neither was injured, police said.

The incident was still under investigation. Police asked any witnesses to call the Traffic Unit at 513-352-2514.

More details weren't immediately available.
