DAYTON, Ky. — A Northern Kentucky man convicted in 2008 of trying to lure a 14-year-old girl into a sexual encounter is in jail once again, this time accused of possessing child pornography.

Campbell County police arrested Paul Brian Morris, 39, Thursday in Dayton, Ky. on a charge of possession/viewing material portraying a sexual performance by minor and four counts of contempt of court, according to the Campbell County Detention Center website.

Morris was found guilty of importuning in Butler County, Ohio in 2008. Morris was arrested by the Butler County Sheriff’s Office after the mother of the teenager involved in that incident reported he had sent inappropriate and explicit text and photo messages to her daughter’s cell phone. The sheriff’s office said Morris knew he was texting with a minor.

After being alerted to the 2008 incident, sheriff’s deputies posed as the 14-year-old and agreed to meet Morris in a public park where he was arrested.

The Dayton police department assisted the Butler County Sheriff’s Office at the time by executing a search warrant at Morris’ home. Evidence collected in his home also led to Morris’ arrest and eventual conviction.

Details were not immediately available concerning Morris’ Thursday arrest. He is scheduled for an arraignment hearing Friday at 8:30 a.m.
