FD: Woman dead in College Hill apartment fire

CINCINNATI — A woman has died in a fire inside a College Hill apartment Thursday night, Cincinnati fire officials said.

Assistant Chief Steve Breitfelder said crews arrived at the apartment along the 5800 block of Hamilton Avenue after 9 p.m.

Breitfelder said firefighters found smoke in a hallway before discovering a fire in the back bedroom of the apartment.

Authorities did not release any information about the victim as they continue to investigate the cause of the fire.

A Cincinnati Police Crime Scene Unit has also arrived at the scene.
