MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- A "suspicious" fire burned Thursday night in the Woodlawn Avenue house where police say they believe Lindsay Bogan was killed.

Bogan had been missing from September of 2015 until July, when officials confirmed that human remains found in a Madison Township farm field were her.

Scott Carroll

Middletown police arrested 19-year-old Scott Carroll Thursday night on charges of obstructing official business. Officers said they caught Carroll in several lies associated with the fire.

Michelle Sharp

Police also arrested Carroll's mother, Michelle Sharp, last month when they searched the home for evidence in the Bogan case. Sharp remains locked up on child endangering and animal cruelty charges.

Police said Carroll's stepfather, Chris Morris, was also arrested on other charges.

How the fire started and who may have been responsible wasn't immediately clear, but neighbors said they were concerned.

"It's been horrible," neighbor Michelle Hollandsworth said. "It really has. What can you say when there's cops in and out?"

In the meantime, Bogan's boyfriend who reported her missing was also transported to a prison near Columbus Friday. Police said Eric Sexton violated parole for his sentence for promoting prostitution.

Police have previously said they were investigating Sexton and members of his family as persons of interest in the case. He has said he had nothing to do with Bogan's disappearance.
