HEBRON, Ky. -- Amazon is hosting a giant job fair on Wednesday, aiming to fill 50,000 new open positions in the U.S.

And the company will be making job offers on the spot.

The company has dubbed the event “Amazon Jobs Day,” and plans to hold career fairs in fulfillment centers across the country, including its warehouse in Hebron.

The company posted an ad about the event at 1155 Worldwide Blvd. in Hebron, stating it plans to hire full-time and part-time positions with “on-the-spot" job offers for its Northern Kentucky facility.

Positions in Hebron include: Pantry associate, sortation associate, warehouse associate, fulfillment associate and more.

In addition to hourly fulfillment center roles, Amazon’s site lists supporting and managerial roles within its facilities including human resources managers, IT specialists, operations leaders and more.

Amazon will open the facility on Aug. 2 from 8 a.m. to noon with tours and information sessions. The company says candidates can come on-site to learn more about working at Amazon and the technology it utilizes in its operations.

“The company plans to make thousands of on-the-spot job offers to qualified candidates who apply on-site as part of Amazon Jobs Day,” according to an ad.

“We’re excited to be creating great jobs that offer highly-competitive wages, benefits starting on day one and the chance for employees to go back to school through our Career Choice program,” said John Olsen, Vice President of Amazon’s Worldwide Operations Human Resources.

Amazon says its jobs offer “highly-competitive pay, health insurance, disability insurance, retirement savings plans and company stock.” The company also offers up to 20 weeks of paid leave and “innovative benefits such as Leave Share and Ramp Back, which give new parents flexibility with their growing families,” according to the site.

Besides Hebron, events will be held at fulfillment centers in:

  • Baltimore, Maryland
  • Chattanooga, Tennessee
  • Etna, Ohio
  • Fall River, Massachusetts
  • Kenosha, Wisconsin
  • Kent, Washington
