Norah Jones

Singer-songwriter Norah Jones will perform at the Taft Theatre on Thursday as part of her "Day Breaks" album tour. As WCPO contributor Gil Kaufman reports,Jones will perform in various formats, from a stripped-down trio to a full-on band and solo at the piano.

St. Patrick’s Day

In honor of St. Patrick's Day this Friday we've created a handy guide for getting your fill of kegs and eggs, Irish history, live music and green-colored libations. Festivities begin as early as 6 a.m. and continue into the wee hours of the night. Click here for a list of places to celebrate.

Jekyll grand opening

Check out Fountain Square's newest restaurant and bar. Jekyll, located inside the former Mynt space, started serving drinks at 11 a.m. Thursday and will continue to celebrate its grand opening throughout the weekend with March Madness and St. Patrick's Day specials. Jekyll will have 11 70-inch TVs, three large projection screens and a large high-definition LED board tuned to basketball all weekend long.

Paula Poundstone

Comedian, actress and author Paula Poundstone will deliver the laughs Friday at the Taft Theatre. Poundstone, who began her standup career in the 1980s, has made regular appearances on "The Tonight Show" and National Public Radio's "Wait, Wait Don't Tell Me" and "A Prairie Home Companion."

Cincinnati Ballet’s Bold Moves 

The Cincinnati Ballet, Ariel Quartet and resident choreographer Adam Hougland will premiere "Cut to the Chase," set to Beethoven’s String Quartet “Op. 18, No. 1 in F Major,” at the Aronoff this weekend. The show is part of the ballet's "Bold Moves" series, which highlights contemporary dance performances.

HorrorHound 

Have a ghoulishly good time this weekend during HorrorHound at the Sharonville Convention Center. As the name suggests, the convention is dedicated to all things horror, including films, television shows and other pop culture icons. This year director John Waters is scheduled to make an appearance at HorrorHound, along with "The Walking Dead" actors Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Chandler Riggs.

Macaron Day

Indulge your sweet tooth while supporting a good cause during Macaron Day this Saturday. Just mention "Macaron Day" at any of the 13 participating Greater Cincinnati bakeries and receive one of the delicious French treats for free. Constella Festival

The Constella Festival has a little bit of everything for lovers of the performing arts. Violinist Tatiana Berman started the festival as a way to create an open space for artists across genres to connect with audiences in intimate settings. This year it includes visual displays along with opera, classical and other musical performances at various venues in Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky.

Cincinnati Rollergirls Season Opener

Help the Cincinnati Rollergirls make their new venue feel like home during Saturday's season opener. The Rollergirls had to move to Xavier University's Schmidt Memorial Fieldhouse after the Port of Greater Cincinnati Development Authority bought, and announced plans to demolish, the Cincinnati Gardens, the team's longtime home. The Cincinnati Junior Rollergirls and men's Cincinnati Battering Rams are also set to play Saturday, too.

Bonus event: The Play Library

Feel like a kid again, and bring your own, to the Play Library in Over-the-Rhine starting this Thursday. Julia Fischer first opened the toy-and-game lending library last year as a pop-up shop in the People’s Liberty Globe building. Now a permanent location is opening. Learn more about the library here.
