Here's why Mark Wahlberg is in Cincinnati

CINCINNATI -- Those rumors that Mark Wahlberg is in Cincinnati are more than just rumors.

Restaurateur Jeff Ruby tweeted a photograph of himself with the actor Monday evening at the Downtown restaurant that bears Ruby's name.

Wahlberg signed the picture "Best N.Y. strip I ever ate." When asked why Wahlberg was at his steakhouse, Ruby replied "business."

Downtown Cincinnati Inc. then revealed Tuesday afternoon that "business" is a new "Wahlburgers" gourmet hamburger joint. The restaurant will open inside the former Pi Pizzeria location at Sixth and Main streets Downtown.

Wahlberg confirmed the news a short time later in a tweet as well.

An opening date for the restaurant has not been announced. Pi Pizzeria closed in July.

In 2014 cable network A&E chronicled Mark Wahlberg and his brothers Paul and Donnie opening their first restaurant in the reality show "Wahlburgers." The show is in its eighth season.

There are currently Wahlburgers in nine states and Canada. A Wahlburger restaurant opened in May in Cleveland.
