Ohio high school football playoff brackets: Check our local teams' schedules

CINCINNATI -- The Ohio High School Athletic Association announced the football playoff brackets in all seven divisions Sunday morning.

The playoffs start Friday, Nov. 4 with Divisions I, II, IV and VI having kickoffs at 7:30 p.m.

The Saturday night games (7 p.m. kickoff) include Divisions III, V and VII.

Next weekend’s first-round games will be played at the higher seeds’ home field. Neutral sites will host the remainder of the playoffs beginning with the second round.

In Division I, Region 4, No. 1 seed Colerain (10-0) plays host to No. 8 Springboro (7-3). Colerain is ranked No. 5 nationally in the MaxPreps computer rankings and No. 1 in the Associated Press state poll.

St. Xavier (5-5) plays at Fairfield (7-3) in the other regional quarterfinal. The winners of those two games meet in the regional semifinals Nov. 11.

The other part of the bracket Friday includes Sycamore (6-4) at Lebanon (7-3) and Elder (6-4) at Mason (6-4).

In Division II, Region 8, No. 8 Anderson (7-3) plays at No. 1 Troy (9-1) Friday night. Kings (8-2) also plays at Miamisburg (8-2).

No. 2 Turpin (10-0) plays host to Harrison (6-4). La Salle (8-2), the reigning two-time Division II state champions, plays host to Edgewood (8-2).

In Division III, Region 12, No. 1 seed Franklin (10-0) plays host to No. 8 Tippecanoe (7-3) at 7 p.m. Saturday. Franklin is 10-0 for the first time since the 1989 season.

No. 3 New Richmond (9-1) plays host to No. 6 Mount Healthy (8-2) also Saturday night.

In Division IV, Region 16, No. 1 seed Wyoming (10-0) plays host to Unioto (8-2) at 7:30 p.m. Friday. No. 2 Clinton-Massie (9-1) plays host to Taft (8-2). Indian Hill (9-1) plays at Alter (10-0).

In Division V, Region 20, No. 1 seed Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy (10-0) plays host to Blanchester (7-3) at 7 p.m. Saturday. Blanchester is coached by Brandon Simmons, the father of former CHCA standout lineman Prince Sammons (Auburn).

Aiken (7-3) makes its first-ever playoff appearance Saturday night when it plays at Milton-Union (7-3).

In Division VI, Region 24, No. 7 seed Summit Country Day (7-3) plays at Jefferson (9-1) Friday night.

In Division VII, Region 28, No. 8 seed Hillcrest Academy (8-2) plays at No. 1 seed Covington (10-0) on Saturday night.
