This could be the best subscription service yet: A London bar is putting rare whiskeys into Capri Sun-like pouches and mailing them straight to customers.

The folks behind Whisky Me hand-select brands "to best represent the glorious flavors and diversity of single malt whiskey" and then mail a 5-centiliter (about 2 ounce) sample to subscribers every month.

(Had Clark Griswold gotten this as a yearend bonus rather than a Jelly of the Month Club subscription, his boss might have remained safely in bed on Christmas Eve!)

The subscription service is the brainchild of the founders of London's Black Rock bar, Tom Aske and Tristan Stephenson.

"With so many brands, bottles and expressions to choose from, the diversity of whisky can make it an intimidating experience for those discovering it for the first time and an expensive hobby for connoisseurs," they told Scotch Whisky magazine.

Subscriptions start at £84 per year, or about $111. Unfortunately, the service is only available in the United Kingdom (for now). As of Nov. 10, 161 people have signed up for the service, and they promise to deliver a free pouch of whiskey to all subscribers when they reach 500 plus bigger rewards when they hit future milestones.

November's dram was The Macallan 'Fine Oak' 12. Whisky Me's website describes it as "rich, complex, liquid sunlight matured in a sherry cask."
