4G costs could rise, but there are ways to offset the uptick

CINCINNATI - If you have lightning fast 4G coverage you probably love it, but that may change once you find out how much it could cost you in the future.

According to a new study by Cisco, cellphone bills could rise as much as $40 a month thanks to the expanded use of 4G.

But Ken Colburn, President of Data Doctors, says there are ways to offset the costs.

"The solution is to connect to Wi-Fi as often as you can at work, at home, at Starbucks, at that hotel, at the airport so that you're not using your data plan," said Colburn.

4G connections are about 10 times faster than the current 3G speeds a lot of us have. That speed is comparable to your home broadband connection.
