2015 CMA Awards: By the numbers

NASHVILLE - Country music royalty will be in attendance at the 2015 Country Music Association Awards — the crop of nominees range from legends like Willie Nelson to popular newcomers like Kelsea Ballerini.

A look at the CMA Awards history behind this year's honorees can be overwhelming.

A total of 52 artists, songwriters, producers and music video directors are nominated across 12 categories at this year's ceremony. Those nominees have collected a total of 654 combined career CMA Award nominations.

It's been 48 years since 2015 nominee Merle Haggard was nominated for his first CMA Award, longer than many of his fellow nominees have been alive.

Among all 2015 nominees, Garth Brooks and Miranda Lambert have the most career CMA Award wins, with 11 each. Both artists are nominated for entertainer of the year, the show's top prize.
