FAIRFIELD TWP, Ohio -
A 19-year-old man is recovering after being shot in the back in Fairfield Township.
The shooting happened at about 2 a.m. Wednesday near the intersection of Cardiff Court and Leeds Lane.
Investigators said other people in the vehicle drove the victim away from the scene. The group made it to a nearby Menard's store before they called 911.
Before the shooting, police said they believe the victim was involved in some sort of drug activity with three other people in the vehicle when an altercation happened.
One of the people in the vehicle pulled a handgun and shot the victim in the back before getting out and running away, police said.
The victim was taken to University of Cincinnati Medical Center. His condition has not been released.
Police said the investigation is ongoing and no other details have been released.
