Police: Suspect steals, crashes vehicle in Avondale

CINCINNATI - Police are searching for a driver who crashed a reportedly stolen vehicle and then fled the scene of the accident in Avondale early Thursday morning.

A white vehicle crashed into a curb at the intersection of Blair Avenue and Reading Road at about 1:40 a.m. The vehicle sustained front-end damage and lost a tire after the crash.

When officials arrived at the crash, the driver had left the scene.

The vehicle was reported stolen just minutes before the crash. Police say they believe the suspect stole the vehicle from a nearby Perkins restaurant.

Authorities have not released information about a possible suspect at this time.
