Cincinnati State fixes embarrassing billboard typos

CINCINNATI - Drivers on Red Bank Road near the Gorilla Glue factory may have seen a billboard suggesting they "Be a Biomedical Technincian" at Cincinnati State.

The embarrassing roadside typo, an extra "n" in technician, was part of a new "Be Great" recruiting campaign by the community college launched at the beginning of the new year to attract students.

"I think part of the problem for us was we hadn't seen the billboard proofs," said Bob White, Cincinnati State's media relations and communications coordinator.

There was at least one more sign on Reading Road with the same typo, though White couldn't confirm how may billboards with grammatical errors were installed.

The signs were replaced by the billboard company within 24 hours of the mistake being discovered, said White.
