Alumni rank Tri-State colleges among best

CINCINNATI - Schools from around the Tri-State are well represented on a new college ranking list based on information from alumni.

On Monday, the Alumni Factor released its list of the 177 top schools based on input from its graduates with eight Ohio schools, five Indiana schools and two Kentucky schools on the list.

In the Buckeye State, Miami University, Xavier University, Ohio State University, Case Western Reserve University, Denison University, Kenyon College, Oberlin College and Ohio Northern University ranked among the top schools.

Indiana schools on the list include DePauw University, Indiana University, Purdue University, Valparaiso University and University of Notre Dame.

From Kentucky, the University of Kentucky and Centre College ranked among the top 177.

Researchers from the Alumni List talked with tens of thousands of graduates of more than 450 US colleges and universities ages 24 and older.

The graduates surveyed answered more than 30 questions about their college experience, their record of academic and extra-curricular achievement, their view of their college and its impact on their lives today, their household situation, their level of employment, their financial situation, their overall happiness and their demographic details.

Researchers compiled the graduates responses with the colleges' graduation rate and alumni giving percentage to determine the schools on the list.
