Grass Roots lead singer dies

EUSTIS, Fla. (AP) - The lead singer of Grass Roots has died, not long after a nasty fall. Rob Grill sang and played bass on the band's 14 top-40 hits, including two Top-Ten songs "Midnight Confessions" and "Let's Live for Today." Grill's wife told the oldies website Top Shelf Times that her husband seriously hurt his head when he fell recently. She says layers of his brain ruptured, he suffered two strokes and fell into a coma. Grill was 67.
