Drug bust in Northern Kentucky nets 10 arrests

FLORENCE, Ky. - A two-month investigation into heroin trafficking out of a Florence motel resulted in nine arrests Thursday morning, and an additional arrest Thursday evening, police said.

Florence police raided the Super 8 Motel at 7928 Dream St., as well as addresses in Elsmere and Erlanger with assistance from Elsmere and Erlanger police and a DEA task force.

Officers recovered approximately 37 grams of heroin, three-quarters of a pound of marijuana and more than $6,000 in cash.

Florence police Capt. Linny Cloyd said the operation went better than expected.

"When these things actually start, you just don't know what your're going to get," said Cloyd. "Nobody got hurt, but there are still a few people we're looking for."

Arrested in the drug investigation were:

Anthony Magness, 47, living at the Super 8 Motel;
Scott Mcrae, 41, from Erlanger;
Angela Hicks, 34, living at Super 8 Motel;
Tina Rodriguez, 39, from Elsmere;
LaDonna Magness from Super 8 Motel for flagrant non-support.

Joshua Jones, 24, from Erlanger is wanted in connection with the drug investigation.

Those five were charged with trafficking in a controlled substance and engaging in organized crime. Both are class B felonies.

Police also arrested Saurabh Tanejah, 32, of Union, Ky., a minority owner of the Super 8 Motel, Thursday evening for engaging in organized crime.

Police arrested five others on unrelated warrants:

Tim Shields from Super 8 Motel for alcohol intoxication;
Amber Holman of Burlington for alcohol Intoxication;
Kendra Gillespie of Alexandria for flagrant non-support;
Jonathan Beard from Super 8 Motel for possession of controlled substances 1st 
degree (Heroin);
