Oxford Physical Therapy, Sports Therapy Inc. merging to create area's largest independent practice

CINCINNATI -- Oxford Physical Therapy Centers and Sports Therapy, Inc., the two largest independently owned physical therapist private practices in the Greater Cincinnati area, have announced the planned merger of their two companies.

The integration of their businesses will be known as Oxford Physical Therapy as of April 2.

Oxford Physical Therapy was founded in 1992 by Ken Rusche and Pete Zulia while Sports Therapy, Inc. was founded in 1988 by Eric and Kathleen Novicki.

“We have known Ken and Pete for decades and have collaborated together on many important projects," said Eric Novicki. "Our mutual respect and acknowledgement of the strengths we both bring to this relationship have been fostered over many years of working together. As we all know any change comes with challenges but we will work to make sure that you will be proud the accomplishment your efforts in the next couple of months bring."

This merger will combine 22 physical therapy locations in the Tri-State as well as an on-site presence at over 80 industrial site locations in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana. The number of physical therapists, physical therapist assistants and athletic trainers will total over 80 professional clinical staff.

“As a resource to the community we are teaming Oxford Physical Therapy & Sports Therapy, Inc. to be the best physical therapy providers possible to all patients in the region,” Zulia said.

All these physical therapy center locations will continue to see patients, either without a doctor referral or by the traditional physician referral.
