LEBANON, Ohio -- An inmate of the Lebanon Correctional Institution was indicted Monday for two counts of felonious assault and two counts of rape.
Jose Velez, who is HIV positive, allegedly forced two different cellmates to engage in sexual conduct in September, 2013, according to the Grand Jury report from the Warren County Clerk of Courts. The indictment said Velez knew of his disease while the rapes apparently happened.
His sentence is 20 years to life for a previous rape and kidnapping in Lorraine County, Ohio.
The 42-year-old inmate remains behind bars in Lebanon. His next hearing will be scheduled in Warren County, and he'll have the chance to enter into a plea.
