Delaney 3-run blast lifts Rebels

Junior catcher Haley Delaney smacked a three-run homer to left field as Boone County beat Ryle, 6-2 on Thursday.

Delaney’s drive hit the left fielder’s glove before clearing the fence. It was her second blast of the season.

Senior right-hander Dallis Knotts scattered three hits to earn her 12th win of the season for the Rebels.

NEWPORT 4, HOLY CROSS 0 – Eighth-grade center fielder Taylor Tyndhall singled home two runs in the bottom of the fifth to extend the Wildcats’ lead to three.

Junior catcher Emily Atkins opened Newport’s scoring with an RBI double in the first.

Junior right-hander Katlyn Hoeh scattered three hits and fanned eight en route to her 10th win of the season.

NEWPORT CENTRAL CATHOLIC 11, LLOYD 1 – Freshman Haley Meyers tossed her third no-hitter of the season.

Senior shortstop Taylor Burkart and junior third baseman Loren Zimmerman drove in two runs each for the Thoroughbreds.

Burkhart doubled down the left field line in the third, scoring one, and she added an RBI single in the fourth. Zimmerman smacked a two-run single during NewCath’s nine-run fourth.

VILLA MADONNA 23, BELLEVUE 5 – Sophomore right fielder Abby Bittlinger drove in six runs to key the Blue Lightning win.

Bittlinger singled home two runners in the first inning, plated two with a double in the second and drew two bases-loaded walks in the third.

Senior catcher Morgan Trusty added four RBI for Villa Madonna, with two coming on a first-inning single. Trusty’s two-run double in the third scored two more.
