Camels fall to Montgomery, top Clark

The second doubles team rallied to win five straight games in the final set but Campbell County fell to Montgomery County, 3-2 in the first of two matches the Camels played on Saturday.

Campbell County won the latter, 3-2 vs. Clark County. Sixth-grader Anderson McDowell paced the Camels in that match, winning at first singles.

Hodgson (MC) def. McDowell, 6-1, 6-3; Smith (MC) def. Combs, 6-2, 6-2; Glenn (CC) def. Huff, 6-1, 6-3; Davis-Razor (MC) def. Geiman-Walters, 6-4, 6-1; Hyatt-Oldiges (CC) def. Crump-Preston, 6-4, 7-5. RECORD: Campbell County 4-5.

McDowell (CC) def. Wilkerson, 6-4, 6-2; Birks (CL) def. Combs, 6-2, 6-1; Glenn (CC) def. Hunt, 6-2, 6-0; Harrison-Logan (CL) def. Walters-Geiman, 6-0, 6-2; Hyatt-Oldiges (CC) def. Thomas-True, 6-4, 6-2. RECORD: Campbell County 5-5.
