Brossart rolled to a Region 10 All ‘A’ championship with a 62-30 win over Robertson County in the championship game at NKU on Wednesday.

Senior forward Alex Trentman racked up 21 points and pulled down 10 rebounds for the Mustangs, who extended their winning streak to 14 games. He is just 17 points shy of 1,000 for his career.

Senior guard Erik Rieger hit two of his four 3-pointers in the second quarter, tallying eight of his 14 points in that stanza.

HOLMES 70, MASON COUNTY 53 – Sophomore guard Markel McClendon scored nine of his game-best 18 points in the fourth quarter for the Bulldogs.

Senior forward Marcus Hill added 14 points, nine rebounds and three blocks, and junior guard James Bolden rolled up 13 points, five steals and four assists in the Holmes win.

NEWPORT 79, LUDLOW 39 – Junior center Drew McDonald eclipsed the 1,000-point mark as Newport Central Catholic beat Ludlow, 79-39 in an All ‘A’ regional quarterfinal at Dayton on Wednesday.

McDonald hit a third-quarter field goal to reach that milestone. He scored nine of his game-high 19 points in the second quarter and eight more in the third, and he also pulled down eight rebounds.

Thoroughbreds senior guard Tanner Moeves rolled up 16 points, including 10 in the first quarter as NewCath took an early 19-point lead.

The Thoroughbreds will play St. Henry in a semifinal at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
