Newport Central Catholic wrapped up the 9th Region All 'A' Classic title with a 49-39 win over Beechwood at St. Henry High School on Saturday afternoon.

After outlasting Holy Cross, 39-37 in Friday night's semifinal, was down by a point heading into the title game's last quarter but outscored Beechwood 19-8 down the stretch.

The Breds were led by junior forward Alexus Mayes' 11 points. Senior Nicole Kiernan chipped in with nine points and 14 rebounds, while senior Stephanie Lewis added eight points and 10 rebounds to the the title run.

Sophomore guard Macy Stuempel had a game-high 15 points for the Tigers. Elizabeth Gieske added nine points to Beechwood's effort.

NOTRE DAME 60, CONNER 51 — Senior guard Paige Kellam scored 21 points, including many of the Pandas' baskets down the stretch, to lead Notre Dame to the home win. Kellam scored on four field goals and five free throws in the fourth quarter as the Pandas overcame a three-point deficit at the end of three quarters.

Conner was led by senior center Maddie Meyers' game-high 28 points.
