Simon Kenton senior Brenan Kuntz was voted the WCPO Tri-State high school football Player of the Week for Week 2, picking up 7,710 votes (28.3 percent).
The Pioneers’ quarterback earned his nomination by coming up with 259 yards of total offense (149 passing, 110 rushing) and three touchdowns (two rushing, one passing) in his team’s thrilling 42-35 win over Conner.
Kuntz edged out Loveland’s Nate Slagel, who has had as impressive start to the season as any player in the entire Tri-state area. Talawanda’s Mason Kuhn finished third in the voting conducted by TriStateFootball.com. In total, 12 players were nominated with 27,234 votes casted.
