The march to the Final Four will be anything but a cake walk for the Xavier men's basketball team.
In addition to playing in arguably the most difficult region on the NCAA Tournament bracket, the Midwest Region, the Musketeers need to go through a play-in game just to qualify for the field of 64.
On Tuesday, Xavier will play fellow No. 12 seeds North Carolina State what's known as a "First Four" game, the new official opening round of the tournament. The winner of the 9:10 p.m. game in Dayton, Ohio earns the right to face fifth-seeded Saint Louis in Orlando.

While many loyal members of the Muskie faithful plan to make the 55-mile trek up Interstate 75 to attend the game and give their team a home-court advantage, they need to know that tickets to the NCAA matchup can't be purchased through the university.
Fans interested in attending the session must purchase tickets individually online or by calling 1-877-NCAA-TIX.
The session also includes the matchup of 16 seeds Albany-Mt St Mary's, who are vying for the right to take on top-seeded Florida in the South Region.
On Wednesday, University of Dayton Arena will host a second set of First Four games featuring Midwest Region squads.
Cal Poly and Texas Southern take the floor at 6:40 p.m. to fight for the right to play No. 1 Wichita State. No. 11 seeds Tennessee and Iowa will then battle one another for the chance to take on sixth-seeded UMass.
Of course, if you can't get to UD Arena for the games, you can always watch on TruTV.
