CINCINNATI – So long Shin-Soo Choo.
ESPN is reporting the outfielder, who played with the Cincinnati Reds for the 2013 season, has reached a seven-year contract with the Texas Rangers. That deal is worth $130 million. CBSSPorts.com also confirmed the report.
In 2013 Choo was one of the National Baseball League’s top leadoff hitters with a .423 on-base percentage, a .285 average, 21 home runs, 54 RBIs, 20 steals and 107 runs scored.
Earlier in the week it was rumored that Choo turned down a similar deal with the New York Yankees.
Choo had agreed to a $7,275,000 one-year deal with the Reds for 2013.
