PEORIA, Ariz. (AP) — Chris Heisey hit two home runs and drove in four runs and Brandon Phillips added a homer and three RBI in the Reds' 10-9 split-squad victory over the Seattle Mariners Friday.
Meanwhile, Jay Bruce homered and doubled in a 4-3 split-squad loss to the Chicago White Sox. Bruce had two RBI and raised his spring average to .417.
Notes from the win over the Mariners:
> Billy Hamilton stole two bases, giving him four in Cactus League play.
> Reds starter Brett Marshall threw three shutout innings despite giving up four hits and three walks. He struck out four.

Notes from the loss to the White Sox:
➢ Joey Votto's average fell to .133 with an 0-for-3. He struck out twice.
➢ Starter Mike Leake and reliever Aroldis Chapman each pitched two innings and gave up one run. Chapman had three K's.
