LONDON -- His birth may have been a global media circus, but Prince George's baptism this week will be a private family ceremony.

The future king will be christened on Wednesday at the Chapel Royal in St. James Place in London. Royal officials say only close family members will attend, including Queen Elizabeth II and the baby's grandfather, Prince Charles.

In the past, royal baptisms have taken place at Buckingham Palace. Kensington Palace, the couple's official residence, said it was a "personal decision" to use the chapel for the service

Prince William and Kate have not yet released the names of the godparents. However, the baby's uncle, Prince Harry, and his aunt, Pippa Middleton, are said to be front-runners. The Royal Family plans to release pictures of the event to the media afterwards.

George was born July 22 to the royal couple, and is third in line to the British throne.
