LICKING CO., Ohio - A minivan was found just outside of Columbus with dozens of dogs crammed inside, authorities say.
Officials found 50 dogs and 12 puppies crammed in filthy crates on a cross-country trip, traveling for hours at a time with four and five dogs per crate inside the van.
Authorities say the van, found broken down outside a hotel around Columbus, belongs to an Indiana dog breeder.
Workers found the van and called authorities. When the dogs were brought inside, many were found with cuts and scrapes.
The dogs are in good health and will be put up for adoption.
Our Cleveland station, NewsNet 5, reports that prosecutors are considering charges against the breeder.
