MADISON COUNTY, Ky. -- Kentucky police say they are investigating what could be called an extreme case of road rage involving an Indiana man who pointed and possibly shot a gun at another driver in Kentucky.
WKYT.com reports Perrin Dobyns, 51, was arrested in his hometown of Corydon, Ind., Monday after another driver brought a scary-looking video to police, according to investigators.
The other driver told police he noticed a car driving recklessly Sunday down Interstate 75 in Madison County, Ky.
The man told police he decided to take out his phone and get a video of the incident. Police said that’s when Dobyns pulled out a gun and pointed it at the other driver.
“I was concerned for everyone’s safety,” the witnessing driver said. “I could get his plate and report it to police and let them follow up on it. I didn’t expect to get shot at in the process.”
In the video, police said Dobyns then fired the gun at the other driver.
“You see all of this happen in front of you and it’s like, wow, that could have been it,” the driver said.
Kentucky State Police said Dobyns was arrested Monday at the correctional facility he works at in Branchville.
Officials say Dobyns will be extradited to Kentucky where he will be officially charged.
