AURORA, Ind. -- The Dearborn County Sheriff's Office confirmed that a week-old baby was found dead in Aurora Sunday.
The baby, identified as Fiona Fox, was found unconscious and not breathing at a home in Dearborn County, according to officials.
The infant was taken to Dearborn County Hospital and later transported to Cincinnati Children's Hospital before the Hamilton County Coroner confirmed the death Tuesday morning.
WCPO's Bryce Anslinger spoke with the Dearborn Prosecutor, Aaron Negangard, who said the death was not of natural causes.
"What law enforcement is trying to determine at this time is whether it's an accidental death or a homicide," Negangard said.
The Dearborn County Special Crimes Unit is heading the investigation but is in a standstill until test results are concluded.
"At this time, we're waiting on some test results. The autopsy has not been returned, so until we have all the tests and the analysis is done, we can't make a determination," the prosecutor said.
