Bad news, fellas. “Selective hearing” does exist and you are guilty of it.
Good news? You aren’t alone. Women hear what they want to hear too.
Researchers, published in the Hearing Journal , read a list of words to a group of men and women. According to the Daily Mail , that list included so-called “manly” words like “football” and “beer” as well as “lady-like” words “chocolate” and “shopping.”
On average, men recalled more “male” words than “female” and vice versa for women.
