City, state leaders dedicate Mill Creek Greenway Trail

CINCINNATI - The dedication of a trail in Spring Grove Village on Tuesday showed just how far the Mill Creek Restoration Project has come.

City and state leaders dedicated the 3-mile Mill Creek Greenway Trail, including Cincinnati Mayor Mark Mallory, Cincinnati Vice Mayor Roxanne Qualls, Ohio State Representative Denise Driehaus, and senators Bill Seitz and Eric Kearney.

Cincinnati Public Schools superintendent Mary Ronan said the Mill Creek Restoration Program is one that will encourage learning outside the classroom.

"Experience first-hand outdoor environmental education projects, you can learn about making a difference. Individually and collectively through service projects such as this one," said Ronan.

More than 100 students got to tour the trailhead and participate in activities.

The trail runs at Salway Park. The trailhead is next to the Old Timber Inn and the intersection of Spring Grove Avenue and Crawford Avenue.
