Postal worker killed while delivering mail in Maryland

An United States Postal worker was shot and killed in Maryland on Saturday.

Tyson Jerome Barnette, 26, was found on Saturday around 7 p.m. with multiple gunshot wounds, according to ABC News. He was pronounced dead on arrival.

The U.S. Postal Inspection Agency is partnering with local police to investigate the murder. 

Anyone who kills, or attempts to kill, any federal officer or employee while they are on official duties could face the death penalty, according to USPS.

Over the last few months, three other related incidents have been reported. 

According to ABC, a Springfield postal worker was groped while delivering mail. In Washington, a postal worker was attacked and punched three times. In Texas, an employee was also attacked.
