MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- Law enforcement officials are asking for the public's help after a man attempted to rob two Warren County hotels in a 30-minute period on Thursday.
The first incident took place at about 3:50 p.m. at the Days Inn hotel at 3458 Commerce Drive in Middletown. Local police say the suspect entered the hotel, jumped over the front counter and demanded money from the clerk.
After the suspect failed to get anything at the Days Inn, he reportedly made his way to the Quail Inn in Franklin about a half-hour later.
Franklin police say the suspect entered the hotel at 2000 Williams C. Good Boulevard at 4:21 p.m. and demanded money from a clerk at the front counter. While he didn't display a gun, the suspect threatened to shoot the clerk if he didn't cooperate.
The suspect made off with an undisclosed amount of money from the register and then fled the scene in a silver four-door vehicle "similar to a late model (Chevrolet) Imapala," according to Franklin police.
Middletown police said just after 6 p.m. they believe the suspect was involved in other robberies. It's unclear at this time if they were only talking about the incident in Franklin.
Detectives are looking at surveillance footage and both incidents remain under investigation.
If you have information in either of these robbery attempts, contact local police or Crime Stoppers at (513) 352- 3040.
