A man armed who was armed with a handgun and wore a bulletproof vest during a bank robbery Saturday afternoon is on the run from police.

A suspect in a Mason bank robbery that took place Jan. 11, 2014.
MASON, Ohio -- A man armed who was armed with a handgun and wore a bulletproof vest during a bank robbery Saturday afternoon is on the run from police.
The incident took place at 12:42 p.m. at the PNC Bank at 6310 Tylersville Road in Mason. Police say the suspect, who was armed with a black semi-automatic handgun, went up to a bank teller and demanded money.
After he received an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspect fled the scene on foot, according to a release from the Mason Police Department.
Investigators believe it's possible the suspect was driving a red pickup truck. They did not indicate a make and model of the vehicle.
Police describe the suspect as a white male in his 30s, who is approximately 6 feet tall and weighs 200 to 220 pounds. He has short brown hair and a trimmed beard at the time of the incident.
Surveillance images show the man wearing a black and white baseball style hat, black zip-up hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and a blue bulletproof vest, according to Mason police.
