MASON, Ohio -- Several fire crews were called to a home in Mason to battle a house fire.
The fire broke out at about 4:50 a.m. Tuesday at 4792 Carriage Dr.
Twelve fire engines and at least three rescue squads were called to the home.
When fire crews arrived, they said they could see flames coming out of the garage.
Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the garage and a room above the garage. Both rooms sustained severe damage in addition to the kitchen.
The rest of the home suffered smoke and heat damage. Investigators estimated the damage at about $200,000.
Firefighters said everyone inside the home was able to escape.
One person at the home suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
The Red Cross was called in to help the family of five.
Fire officials said part of the reason for the increased response was due to the weather.
