Coroner called to Middletown fire
MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- A coroner has been called to a fire in Middletown.
The fire broke out at about 10:45 a.m. Thursday in the 2500 block of El Camino Drive.
No other details have been released.
Man shot while sleeping in Northside apartment
CINCINNATI -- A sleeping Northside man woke up after being shot early Thursday.
The shooting happened at about 3 a.m. at an apartment building located in the 4600 block of Hamilton Avenue.
Police say the shooter fired his gun through a window in the back of the apartment building. The bullet hit the victim in the arm.
The victim was taken to a local hospital and is expected to survive.
Authorities have not made any arrests at this time.
Deputy injured while making arrest
CINCINNATI – A Hamilton County deputy is recovering after being injured on the job early Thursday.
Authorities said the deputy saw a man walking down the street with a beer in his hand at about 1 a.m. near the intersection of Hampton Drive and Montgomery Road.
When the deputy tried to arrest the man, investigators said the man resisted. The deputy was injured in the process.
Officials said the deputy was taken to an area hospital to be checked out.
Police seize $225,000 worth of marijuana
BLUE ASH, Ohio – Several hundred thousand dollars of marijuana is off the streets after Blue Ash police seized a haul of marijuana.
Officers said the operation was launched after they got a drug complaint from an apartment building in the 3700 block of Fox Run Drive.
A building manager alerted police after noticing the smell of marijuana.
When officers served a search warrant, they said they found about 200 pounds of marijuana in an “otherwise empty” apartment.
The half-pound bricks of marijuana have an estimated street value of $225,000.
